SATURDAY ~ Enjoying this waxed hunting skirt for the warmth.
The lining creates an unfortunate battle of friction with my legs - the skirt seems to not want me in it but it also can't travel without me.
I was imagining the situation as hunter's guilt.

MORE SATURDAY ~ Mimosa season !
A friend on the walk to and from the station.

The flowers of winter will always announce themselves so loudly and that cheers me. The Sarcococca is screaming right now. It's sweet indolence brought a laugh/sigh out of me on the way back.

YET MORE SAT. ~ Turkish lunch
with Hats.
We watched 'A Real Pain' at Rio. It made me realise how clinical a lot of English/American interaction is. And how Benji's frank and unboundaried behaviour brought the most meaningful and epiphanic moments for the group around him.

SUNDAY ~ Another sorority special. The gelatinous chemistry of this recipe threw me a bit but to be fair to the 1960's this was an easy and suprisingly tasty pie. I see cherry juice and maybe a biscuit/coconut mix base working better for me.

MONDAY ~ Two bodily loaves for a community discussion dinner. Parsley, chilli, and lemon zest with a 1.5kg bag of bread flour

WEDNESDAY ~ A short intro to hand-tying flowers with the afternoon group. They made Valentines bouquets for themselves or loved ones. My favourite went to a cat called Tchaikovsky.

THURSDAY ~ Sweeping the floral dregs from the day before... pollen acting like hazel breath, smudged across the floor.

MORE THURSDAY ~ Bought 'The Mousetrap' tickets for the family. It was so so as a play but the theatre was stunning inside.

FRIDAY ~ Yarn festival with mum. Sought out some worsted yarn to make a Cromwell hat. Managed to knit the cap within 8 hours but it now becomes a rigmarole of cold wash -> raise nap -> cold wash -> raise nap -> cold wash -> raise nap -> cold wash -> block. These porcelain buttons might make their way onto it. Mum bought so many of the swears ! We decided 'cock' and 'bugger' weren't appropriate.

SATURDAY ~ A family walk. All my favourite smoke-tinged purples, greens, ochres, and silvers. A winterly punctuation of yellow is everywhere.
